Terms & Conditions
Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to any roofing work quoted, booked or carried out by JMR Roofing ("we", "us", "our") for a customer ("you"). By accepting a quote or asking us to carry out work, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside any written quote we provide, which forms part of our agreement with you.

Quotes & Estimates

All quotes are free and provided without obligation, usually following an on-site survey. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, since material costs can change. A quote is based on what's visible or reasonably foreseeable at the time of survey; if additional work is needed once we start (for example, hidden timber damage), we'll explain what we've found and agree revised pricing with you before carrying it out.

Booking & Scheduling

Once you accept a quote, we'll agree a provisional start date with you. Roofing work can be affected by weather, so dates may need to move at short notice for safety reasons; we'll always let you know as soon as possible if this happens.

Payment Terms

Payment terms will be agreed with you in writing before work begins, and will depend on the size and nature of the job. We don't require full payment upfront for larger jobs. Any deposit requested will be confirmed in your written quote or agreement.

Access & Site Conditions

You agree to provide reasonable access to the property, including parking for our vehicles and scaffolding where needed, and to let us know about anything on site that might affect the work, such as fragile roofing, asbestos, or restricted access. Where scaffolding is required, it will be erected and removed by us as part of the job.

Materials & Workmanship

We use materials appropriate to the job as agreed in your quote. Where we're a registered or certified installer for a specific product (such as Velux windows or Firestone rubber roofing), that work is carried out to the relevant manufacturer's installation standard.

Changes to the Work

If you'd like to change the scope of work after accepting a quote, let us know and we'll confirm any impact on price or timing in writing before proceeding. Similarly, if we discover something during the job that changes what's needed, we won't carry out significant extra work without agreeing it with you first.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or postpone a booked job, please give us as much notice as possible. Depending on how much notice is given and whether materials have already been ordered, a cancellation charge may apply, which we'll always discuss with you directly rather than apply automatically. If you booked work following an unsolicited visit to your home, you may have additional cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations; ask us if you're unsure.

Warranties & Guarantees

All work carries a workmanship guarantee, the length of which will be confirmed in your written quote. This is in addition to, and does not affect, any manufacturer's guarantee on materials used, or your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Liability & Insurance

We carry appropriate insurance for the work we do. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded. For other matters, our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out, except where the law requires otherwise.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with any aspect of the work, please contact us directly so we can put it right. Most issues can be resolved quickly by getting in touch, and any work covered by our guarantee will be addressed at no extra cost.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
