A local Nottingham developer appointed JMR Roofing to install five brand new dormers onto an existing roof. The aim is to completely transform the space beneath it, turning roof space that is limited by headroom and daylight into rooms that genuinely work.
The Work

The project is underway, with five brand new dormers being installed onto the existing roof structure. Each dormer is formed, framed and weathered in turn, with the roof kept protected as the work progresses rather than opening up more of the structure than can be closed back down. Repeating the same detail five times across one roof brings its own discipline: the dormers need to line up with each other and with the openings below, and the finish has to be identical across all five so the elevation reads as designed rather than assembled.
